The Clear + Fade System

The Clear + Fade System is Evologie’s four-product patented skincare system for acne and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Each product has a specific role: the Stay Clear Cleanser prepares the skin barrier, the Stay Clear Intensive Blemish Serum addresses the breakout, the Fade and Brighten Serum addresses the mark the breakout leaves, and the Stay Clear Cream maintains the barrier so the first three steps deliver their full benefit. All four products run on the patented YS3 Delivery System.

The YS3 Delivery System is the patented delivery mechanism at the core of every Evologie product. It was developed by Dr. Robert Nagel, an endodontist who applied the science of dental anesthetics to skin. Dental anesthetics carry molecules through biological barriers without disrupting them. Dr. Nagel applied the same principle to carry azelaic acid, salicylic acid, and arginine past the skin’s surface without stripping the barrier doing it. Three US patents protect the system: US10,202,338, US11,021,440, and US12,071,397.

Most acne treatments sit on top of the skin’s surface and strip the barrier to deliver their actives. Barrier disruption triggers more oil production and inflammation, which is why the cycle of breakouts continues. The YS3 Delivery System is designed to carry its actives past the skin’s surface without stripping the barrier. Non-drying is one of the most consistent signals across more than 1,000 independent reviews.

Hydroquinone is the standard treatment for dark spots and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It is banned for cosmetic use across much of Europe and linked to rebound darkening on melanin-rich skin with prolonged use. The Fade and Brighten Serum addresses the appearance of dark spots using Oligopeptide-68 and Glabridin without hydroquinone. Evologie holds the only method patent on PIH treatment in its category: US12,071,397.

Evologie holds three granted US patents. US10,202,338 and US11,021,440 cover the YS3 Delivery System. US12,071,397 is a method patent on post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation treatment, granted in August 2024. No other brand in the acne and PIH space holds a comparable patent.

Products

No. Evologie never tests any of its products on animals.

Skin responds differently from person to person. Most buyers begin to see improvement in the appearance of blemishes within the first few days, with consistent results at two to four weeks of use. The clinical trial showed a 92% reduction in breakouts and 97% reduction in inflammation.

The Stay Clear Intensive Blemish Serum, used as a spot treatment as needed, typically lasts about three months. The Stay Clear Cream, applied across the full face twice daily, typically lasts about thirty days.

Evologie products contain botanical ingredients that may darken slightly over time due to oxidation when exposed to air. This has no effect on the product’s performance.

We do not recommend use on children under 12 years of age. Consult your pediatrician before using this product on any child.

It is recommended not to use more than one active treatment on your skin at a time. Consult your physician if you have any questions about combining treatments.

No. Sunscreens need to be applied frequently to be effective, and Evologie products should not be applied more than twice daily. Sunscreen is recommended for outdoor activities and can be applied over Evologie products once they have been absorbed.

Yes. Apply the serum or cream, allow it to dry, then use an oil-free makeup or mineral powder foundation. Avoid liquid and cream foundations as they can make skin oily and potentially clog pores.

Yes. The Clear and Fade System was designed for all skin types and ethnicities, including melanin-rich skin where post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a more common and persistent concern.

Yes. The YS3 Delivery System is designed to carry actives past the skin’s surface without stripping the barrier, which is why non-drying appears consistently across more than 1,000 reviews. It is well suited for dry and sensitive skin.

Yes, though rosacea and acne are separate conditions. The YS3 Delivery System is designed to work without disrupting the skin barrier, which is a key consideration for rosacea-prone skin. Consult your dermatologist if you have concerns.

Apply the Stay Clear Intensive Blemish Serum directly to the blemish while continuing to apply the Stay Clear Cream to the rest of your face as directed.

On rare occasions skin may react to a new product, which can temporarily worsen breakouts. This usually resolves as the skin adjusts. If irritation persists, discontinue use and consult your dermatologist.

Ingredients

All Evologie products are vegan with the exception of the Stay Clear Cleanser, which contains honey extract.

Evologie products are formulated with azelaic acid, salicylic acid, and arginine, carried by the patented YS3 Delivery System. The formula is free of benzoyl peroxide, hydroquinone, retinol, artificial fragrance, parabens, and sulfates. We focus on what the formula does and what it doesn’t contain rather than natural vs. synthetic framing.

Evologie products are formulated without the most common irritants. If you are sensitive to any ingredient, apply a small amount to the inside of your forearm and wait thirty minutes. If the skin does not itch, redden, or swell, the product is suitable for you. Stop use immediately if any sensitivity develops.

Some preservatives are present to maintain product integrity and safety. Many of the active ingredients also act as antibacterials, reducing the need for chemical preservatives.

Yes. Evologie products are formulated to support clearer-looking pores and avoid clogging them.

Evologie products are formulated without added artificial fragrance. Any aroma is from the botanical ingredients in the formula.

No. Evologie products are paraben free.

No. Sodium lauryl sulfate is not used in any Evologie product.

Skin Care / Acne

Acne is inflammation of the hair follicle and oil gland unit of the skin. Pores become blocked by oil and dead skin cells, trapping bacteria that multiply and cause the inflammation resulting in pimples and blemishes. Blackheads form when blocked pore contents reach the surface and oxidize. Whiteheads form when the pore remains blocked below the surface.

PIH is the dark mark that remains after a pimple resolves. When skin becomes inflamed, the pigment-producing cells can overproduce melanin, leaving a dark spot that can persist for weeks or months. PIH is more common and more persistent on melanin-rich skin. The Fade and Brighten Serum was developed specifically to address the appearance of PIH without hydroquinone.

Rosacea and acne are separate conditions that can appear together. Acne is driven by inflammation in the hair follicle and oil gland unit. Rosacea involves chronic skin inflammation and barrier sensitivity. They are treated differently.

Oily skin is caused by overproduction of sebum by the skin’s oil glands. This is common in teenage skin due to hormonal activity, and can also be caused by stress, environmental factors, diet, genetics, and hormonal changes during pregnancy and menopause.

Yes. Teenage acne is primarily driven by excess sebum production triggered by hormonal changes during adolescence. Adult acne, particularly in women, is more often driven by androgen fluctuations and cyclical progesterone changes. Most acne treatments were formulated for the teenage model, which is one reason they frequently fail adult patients.

Hormones regulate the activity of the skin’s oil glands, which is why teenagers experience acne at higher rates. In adults, hormonal fluctuations tied to the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, perimenopause, and stress can all trigger breakouts. The Clear and Fade System was designed for this hormonal pattern as well as the sebum-driven teenage pattern.

Stress triggers an inflammatory response in the body that can disrupt pores and contribute to breakouts. Managing stress alongside a consistent skincare routine is part of addressing the full cycle.

Acne should be addressed as soon as it appears. For children, consult a pediatrician before starting any treatment.

No. Squeezing or popping pimples increases the risk of worsening PIH and scarring. If a pimple is squeezed, apply the Stay Clear Intensive Blemish Serum to the area immediately.

Tanning salons should be avoided entirely due to the risk of skin cancer. Sun overexposure can cause inflammation that worsens existing breakouts and deepens PIH. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 for outdoor activities.
